Ayurveda understands that when we align our body, lifestyle practices, and mind with the tides of nature, our self-esteem is boosted. Why is this so? When we learn to practice deep self-care, our body and subconscious mind begin to receive an ancient message of love. When we ignore our body and mind’s natural needs for deep self-care, we send a message to our subconscious that we are unworthy of it.
One of the absolute best ways to being to love yourself more is to become established in a loving, relaxed daily routine. This routine should bring you joy, not more stress. Try starting your day with simple Ayurvedic techniques, like waking up with the sun (feel grateful to be alive before your toes touch the earth), drinking warm lemon water, using a neti pot, and giving yourself Abhyanga (self-massage).
Then, enjoy a healthy breakfast. Whole foods like warm oatmeal, spiced apples or prunes, hot smoothies, and eggs with whole-grain breads and ghee will make your belly feel loved.
