Introducing Active Pass Membership

Our new membership program includes exclusive sequences and content, healthy recipes, meal plans, and books.

Yoga is a place where I turn to for stillness. For quiet. To turn inward and be present in the moment and with my thoughts.

But yoga is also about movement: Flowing through an asana sequence helps me clear out stagnant energy, while my meditation practice creates powerful shifts in my thoughts and emotions.

In that spirit of movement, I’m excited to share a new stage in Yoga Journal‘s journey. Pocket Outdoor Media, a holding company which owns Yoga Journal, Clean Eating, Better Nutrition, Vegetarian Times, as well as Women’s Running, and VeloPress has added YJ to its Active Pass membership program.

First off, you should know, the great coverage you’re used to receiving isn’t going anywhere. You will continue to be able to get almost all the Yoga Journal content you’ve come to expect for free: the latest news and conversations within the yoga community; sequences, meditations, and breathing practices from leading teachers and luminaries; strategies for taking your practice off the mat and into your daily life; delicious, nourishing recipes, and more.

With the $99 Active Pass membership, however, you’ll receive a whole bunch of new perks. You’ll have access to member-exclusive, enhanced editorial coverage, exclusive sequences and video content, and more. Membership content, when you’re logged in, will also be an ad-free experience. (To be clear, our advertising partners have supported us well over the years and will continue to support the business for years to come. But we also know some of you want a simplified reading experience.)

In addition, members will receive a number of exclusive benefits from across our healthy-living brands. These include: Member-only yoga and meditation challenges, healthy meal plans from Clean Eating and Vegetarian times; 8,000 healthy recipes; two (2) free VeloPress books, a magazine subscription, and more. Other perks—including an advanced pose library with anatomy layering and modifications, a video library, members-only webinars and in-person events—are coming soon.

Yoga Journal has roots back to 1975, and, while a lot has changed with the brand over the last 45 years, as well as the larger publishing business, our core commitment has remained the same. The future is bright, and the Active Pass membership program is one new way we continue to offer best-in-class content, much of it free, while delivering on our mission to provide inspiration, motivation, and knowledge to help you lead a more authentic, happier life, both on and off the mat.

And, if you join Active Pass by December 23, you can take advantage of a special offer. For just $80 you’ll receive Active Pass  plus one of our favorite courses from our online library: Yoga for Strength and Flexibility. Led by Derrick “DJ” Townsel—former NFL athlete, international yoga instructor, and Orlando-based personal trainer—this six-week online program  (a $250 value) space for you to contemplate how you stand up to obstacles and redefine your limitations on the mat…and maybe in your life too.
