Hanuman Festival is more than a yoga event. It’s a place to make lasting connections and find your yogi tribe.
Hanuman Festival is a four-day outside event that takes place at Boulder High School in Boulder, Colorado, next to the foothills. Along with world-class yoga teachers, motivational speakers and musicians will take the stage to cultivate a sacred space for yogis seeking to connect with each other on a higher vibration.
Join experienced teachers like Richard Freeman in his immersion class on the art of vinyasa, Annie Carpenter on a workshop to stabilize the sacrum and lower back, and Janet Stone’s “Bhakti for Breakfast” class that will open your heart and third eye with chanting and stories. Don’t miss your favorite Boulder teachers at the event either. Amy Ippoliti is teaching an inversions class that will help you see a new life perspective, the hilarious and silly Gina Caputo is taking her inspiration from her surroundings with classes to feel the strength and steady presence of the mountains, and Mary Clare Sweet will also be taking the stage in an electric heart-opening flow to give you a well-rounded and fulfilling weekend of yoga.
Catch musicians like Magic Giant, Elijah Ray and The Human Experience throughout the day while you flow or connect with new friends at Shine Restaurant and Gathering Place during the evening.
Take a break from your yoga classes and attend motivational, “TEDx-inspired” speeches. Astrologist Debra Silverman will be giving a lecture on “finding the calm during the storm,” photographer Robert Sturman will share how he takes inspiring and interesting yoga photos that connect people across the world, and yoga teacher Tommy Rosen will be speaking about the purification of the chakras.
Hanuman’s close-knit community makes this event ultra special. It’s the perfect festival to fly solo or bring a friend. “There’s this authentic connection with one another,” says Courtney Love, the Director of Sales and Marketing for Hanuman Festival. “There is a sense of compassion and talking to your neighbor and opening up. You’re held and supported. There’s no judgments. There’s not a sense of ‘I’m better than you.’”
Located in the heart of Boulder, Hanuman is immersed in the fast-paced, athletic energy of the city. “We encourage our attendees to take advantage of what Boulder has to offer,” says Love. “There’s a reason why national teachers love coming to Boulder—It’s a high energy place and it’s accessible.”
Grab a bite at the local farmer’s market or on Pearl street that is within walking distance of the festival. Get your nature fix by exploring the diverse trails at Chautauqua or bike along the creek to explore the city.
