Monroe, New York
With three guesthouses providing around 50 beds and camping available April through October, this Ashram has a communal and freeing atmosphere. Three lacto-vegetarian and vegan meals are served daily, much of the food coming from their own bio-dynamic garden as well as water from spring-fed wells. During the peak season (May-October), weekly rates fall between $400 and $600; Non-peak season (November-April) rates are between $400 and $500. With morning and evening meditation seasons, classes teaching yogic philosophy and Sanskrit, and the beauty of the outdoors to explore, Ananda Ashram provides ample relaxation for the dollar.
Mount Madonna Center
Mount Madonna Center is a conference and retreat center located on 355 acres of mountain-top redwood forest and grassland overlooking Monterey Bay. Here you can explore hiking trails, attend daily yoga classes, play on volleyball, tennis, and basketball courts, take a dip in the pond, use their massage and herbal steambath facilities, and enjoy vegetarian meals. Rates range from $50 to $160 per person per night (depending on your choice of a room, cabin, or camp grounds) and even less if you bring your own tent or vehicle to use.
Sivananda Vrindavan Yoga Farm

This yoga farm offers a lot more than a beautiful space. With courses throughout the year ranging from beginning yoga to classical meditation studies and exciting events like the celebration of Master Sivananda’s birthday, the farm is a yogini’s playground. Accommodations include cabins of single or double occupancy, a dormitory, or the choice of bringing your own tent to camp on the grounds. A stay includes two vegetarian meals prepared according to Yogic and Ayurvedic dietary principles per day. Rates range from $50 (tent) to $300 (a deluxe cabin), with many options in between.
Sivananda Ashram Yoga Ranch
Woodbourne, New York
Located in the New York Catskills mountains on 77 acres, this Ashram provides a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of city life. Krishna Temple sits at the heart of the ashram, where people meet morning and evening for Satsang. Accommodations are varied, including dorms, double or single rooms with shared bathrooms, private apartments with private baths, and outdoor tenting. Guests can help work in the organic vegetable and flower gardens, enjoy the wood-burning sauna overlooking the mountains, along with daily yoga practice and meditation to foster a healthy lifestyle. Retreat programs vary, allowing yoginis of all skill-sets and interests to visit the ashram. Prices range from $60 (tent) to $125 (single apartment) per person per night; There is an extra fee for weekend nights.
Sewall House Yoga Retreat
Island Falls, Maine
A daily schedule at Sewall House includes morning and evening meditation and yoga, three vegetarian meals, and opportunities to hike, bike, get a massage (for an added charge), hang out by the lake to swim, canoe, or kayak, as well a use the sauna and Jacuzzi. Guitar music and chanting are incorporated into the afternoon class. Rates range from $130 to $210 (cheaper the longer the stay) for one person per day.
Sedona Spirit Yoga & Hiking
Sedona allows you to create a custom 3- or 4-day retreat for two or more people, offering everything from in-depth yoga instruction and meditation to life coaching, tarot reading, yoga hikes, and massages, all included in your fee. These custom-made retreats range in price from $600 to $1100 depending on the length of your stay and the size of your retreat group (cheaper with more people). Lodging and breakfast at the Contentment Bed and Breakfast is included. They also offer weeklong retreats, which include 6-nights’ accommodations and all the yoga and hiking (including a trip to the Grand Canyon) one could want. Prices for a weeklong retreat range from $1400 to $1600 depending on accommodations and payment method.
The Yoga Lodge on Whidbey Island
Sitting on five secluded, environmentally-conscious acres, this spot is considered a safe haven for healing and learning. Guests enjoy orchards, organic vegetable and flower gardens, a small pond, woodland and beach walks, vegetarian and vegan breakfasts and a sauna nestled in the trees. The Yoga Lodge offers varied weekend retreats, from an Autumnal Equinox Retreat to a Yoga & Juice Cleanse Retreat. The fees for a weekend retreat range from $500 for a stay at the lodge to $280 for offsite lodging, and vary based on the specific retreat chosen.
Feathered Pipe Ranch
Tucked in the heart of the Montana Rockies and surrounded by forested mountains, the Ranch offers weeklong retreats that will heal, relax, and rejuvenate. A day at this retreat encompasses everything from a guided morning walk to yoga instruction to gourmet meals (primarily vegetarian and organic). They offer varied retreats, with tuition costs ranging from $450 to $600. Accommodation options include dorms in the Main Lodge (up to four people and a private bathroom), semi-private rooms, as well as the chance to stay in a tipi, tent, or yurt. Prices for accommodations range from $1000 to $2100 for a 6- or 7-day retreat (varies based on accommodation requests). This cost also includes meals and access to Ranch facilities.
Kalani Oceanside Retreat
The only coastal lodging in Hawaii’s largest conservation area offers 30 one-week yoga retreats per year. Seminar fees for most six-night/seven-day Kalani-sponsored events are a great value and range from around $850 for campsite facilities to a single occupancy Ocean Cottage for around $2200. The weeklong stay includes accommodations, three meals per day, one hour of bodywork, a half-day adventure, use of all facilities (pool, hot tub, and sauna), daily yoga classes, and more than 50 classes and events a week, including Hawaiian culture classes. Nightly stays are also available.
