L.A.based designer Trina Turk is the latest on the scene with her new colorful line, Trina Turk Recreation.
Yoga Journal: Where do you practice?
Trina Turk:Silver Lake Yoga in Los Angeles, or in my living room.
YJ: Go-to pose?
TT:Triangle. I like the name of it, and it just feels great.
YJ: How does yoga help you balance your busy career?
TT: The most important thing I’ve learned in yoga is how to breathe. Just taking a few deep breaths does make such a huge difference when you’re stressed or nervous.
YJ: Post-class beauty tricks?
TT: Drink lots of water and throw on some cool sunglasses.
YJ: What was the inspiration behind Recreation?
TT: The pieces were designed to be layered for style, function, and comfort. These are tried-and-true activewear silhouettes infused with our unique design DNA.
YJ: Do you have a favorite from the collection?
TT: The Mini T Mid-Length Legging. Great fit and functional, and the print adds a pop of color and fun.
YJ: How does fashion fit into yoga?
TT: They are both about feeling good about yourself. Both can instantly elevate your mood, so why not combine them?
