In April, the Live Be Yoga Tour visited Eisenhower Elementary in Flint, Michigan, to observe the Crim Fitness Foundation's Mindfulness and Yoga programs in local schools, and to see how the community is using yoga to transcend and cope with the water crisis there (thousands of children may have been exposed to drinking water with high levels of lead).
But while the public health disaster dominated national news, the Live Be Yoga Tour went to Flint to tell a very different story -- one that exemplifies the profound impact that yoga and mindfulness can have on all communities, no matter the circumstances. In this video, you will meet children, parents, and teachers who are not only refusing to be victims, they're also using yoga and mindfulness to change education as we know it and inspire other schools around the country.
Gaia is donating a membership to a teacher in Flint for every membership purchased. Click here for more information.
