More than 40 of the world’s finest yoga teachers will present more than 100 classes at the 9th annual Yoga Journal San Francisco Conference, to be held at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero, January 12-16, 2012. Held by Yoga Journal (, the most widely read yoga magazine in the world, the 2012 conference will feature world-renowned teachers including Seane Corn, Rodney Yee, Ana Forrest, Shiva Rea, Baron Baptise, Rod Stryker, Jason Crandell and many others.

Community Class with Jane Austin. “Yoga and the “True Core”

What is the “true core,” and how do you find it? Flowing with movement and breath, this fun and fluid practice of standing poses, core toning and hip openers will help connect you to your true core. FREE and open to the public.

Keynote by Rodney Yee: “Integrating Yoga into the Health Care System”

From mind-body fitness to health care, yoga is in its next reincarnation. What is a realistic synergy between these two worlds? Internationally renowned yoga teacher Rodney Yee will examine in this thought-provoking keynote talk. FREE and open to the public.

5:45pm – 6:45pm

“Community, Shakti, and Play: Anusara Yoga & Hooping”

This dynamic and playful community class is for all levels, all ages, and all yogis. Sianna Sherman will lead a creative asana sequence with music, followed by Shakti Sunfire’s ignited hoop teaching. DJ Dragonfly will stir our soul with great music as we move on the mat and spiral through the room. FREE and open to the public.

Sunday, January 15

Community Class with Pete Guinosso

Maximize the lunch hour by filling your mind, body, and spirit with delight by releasing toxins through deep twists and energizing arm-balancing poses. Join Pete for this invigorating vinyasa Forrest Yoga-inspired class. FREE and open to the public.

Panel Discussion: Digital Distractions and Your Practice

Our high-tech, ever-connected modern world seems antithetical to the ancient technologies of yoga and meditation. Is our digital age detrimental to our practice? Or, can we find ways for technology to support our search for calm and stillness? How can we stay present in a constant stream of emails, texts, tweets and status updates?

Join us for a discussion about spiritual wisdom in a high-tech world, and take away tips and tricks from such tech luminaries as Zynga cofounder Eric Schiermeyer and Google marketing manager Gopi Kallayil and Yoga Journal‘s Wisdom columnist Sally Kempton. FREE and open to the public.
