Yogathon Supports Kids' Programs

Out There, Kids doing Wall Yoga

Denver-area yogis, dedicate your practice to healthier children on Saturday, May 17 at The Wellness Initiative’s 5th annual Yogathon, in Boulder, Colorado. 100 percent of the proceeds from pledges and entries go to its yoga-based programs that improve health and academic performance of low-income kids in the Denver/Boulder metro area.

Sign up for the three-hour, 108 Sun Salute sequence led by area teachers including Shannon Paige and Marsha Austin. Participants are asked to raise at least $108 in pledges. Or register for regular flow and meditation classes.

Either way you slice it, you’ll undoubtedly finish the Yogathon feeling proud that your practice made a difference in a child’s life. And as the event’s tagline touts, it’s not just about yoga. “It’s about better grades, better health, and a better future.” Count us in.
