Cocoa enhances feelings of well-being, while the tart cherries relieve muscle soreness.
- 1/2 cup roasted soy nuts
- 1/4 cup dried tart cherries, roughly chopped
- ¼ cup sliced almonds
- 1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- ¼ tsp chili powder
- ¼ tsp sea salt
- ½ cup rolled oats
- 4 tsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp canola oil
In a bowl, combine soy nuts, cherries, almonds, cocoa powder, chili powder, and sea salt.
In a medium sauté pan over low heat, toast oats until golden, 3–5 minutes. Remove from pan and set aside.
Return pan to stove and reduce heat to low. Add brown sugar and canola oil. Mix well to combine; cook until bubbly, 1–2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in 1 tbsp water.
Add nut-cherry mixture and oats to pan and stir to combine; let cool. Store in an airtight container.
