How to Recognize Fear in Your Life
Fear often comes in disguise, which might make you blame, for example, an “inherent lack of focus” or some other personal “deficiency” for standing in your way. But take for example a very typical type of dream-killing fear: distraction. Perfectionism can also be a form of distraction, and it’s what we call the “secret dream killer.” For example, if you spend months debating over the perfect color of your logo and that is what is keeping you from finishing your web site and ultimately doing all of the things you need to do to take your career to the next level, realize that what you are experiencing is indeed fear. When you begin to see distraction and perfectionism as fear, you can begin to treat their root cause better. The power in recognizing fear for what it is is the ability to then begin to control it.
