Creating quality content to share in newsletters is a great way build your brand and connect with your community. But if your open rate analytics disappointingly indicate no one is reading them, it can feel like a waste of time. Generally, if you have an email list comprised of people who already love your work and what you do, you want to see an open rate of at least 30%.
We’ve discovered that while being strategic about when you send your newsletters and who you target obviously helps, creating catchy titles can be truly impactful. This is actually common sense in a way. Since the flood of emails reaching our inboxes daily can lead to utter overwhelm, subject lines that look purely promotional or uninteresting are trashed—quickly. So to create a catchy email, you want to think a little outside the box. Being descriptive and specific about the content can be less important. Even a bit of humor, if that feels comfortable, will go a long way.
This week’s video offers our top tips for creating newsletter titles that are catchy and interesting enough to grab more clicks.
