Tip 1: Post regularly. Consistency is key.
Think of your activity on social media as tending to a garden. If you plant seeds in a garden but only water them when you’re feeling inspired or whenever you remember, what will those seeds produce for you? On the other hand, if your garden is tended to regularly—even when you’re tired or out of town—you will reap its fruits and beauty. Social media works similarly. Your online audience responds to rhythm and consistency, so choose a posting frequency and stick to it. We are not suggesting that you become a social media addict—even three posts per week on Facebook can be sufficient. Decide how often you are going to tend to your online audience and commit.
Tip 2: Post useful, relevant, and valuable information.
Do not think of social media as a place to “promote.” Instead, use social media to provide useful, relevant, and valuable information that can impact and enhance your students’ lives just as much as you do when you teach in the yoga room. Social media is an opportunity to give and serve.
Ask yourself, “What does my audience care about?” Your posts should reflect the primary interests of your students and the authentic power of your teachings. Spirituality? Mythic Stories? Music playlists? Healthy recipes? Think about what your students care about most and post about it regularly.

Tip 3: Use the 3:1 Ratio.
Tip 2 does not mean you should never promote your offerings. Simply create a healthy ratio between non-promotional posts and promotional posts; we recommend 3:1. For every one promotional post you share, aim for three completely non-promotional posts.
By creating effective messages that your students actually care to read, you build trust with your audience. This trust is what ultimately influences purchase decisions. When your students trust you, they’ll be more likely to attend your workshops, retreats, and events.
