Teachers spend a lot of money and time on branding and marketing strategies. And they do it mostly because they feel if they are not unique, they will blend in with all the other teachers out there. One of the questions yoga teachers ask us most often is: “How do I stand out?”
What Makes You Stand Out as a Yoga Teacher?
What we have found is the teachers who do stand out are the ones who are clear about their own personal “why.” In other words, the teachers that connect with their purpose and are able to speak from that place do not need to worry about standing out. Your “why” is your brand. What makes you unique is your own story.
Identify + Connect with Your Purpose
To identify your “why,” we want to invite you to connect with your defining moment, the moment in your life when you experienced deep transformation that may have led directly, or indirectly, to your choosing yoga as your career path. Typically we see this defining moment being an event that spurred deep awakening, and such an event is often, albeit not always, traumatic. The more connected you are to this moment, the better you can connect with your deep purpose.
What instigated your deep calling to choose a path of helping others as a yoga teacher?
Stay away from a long chronological story. Go right into that one transformative event in your life. What instigated your deep calling to choose a path of helping others as a yoga teacher? Once you identify your “why,” building your brand becomes easy. Do not spend any time or money on branding strategies until you go through this exercise.
3 Steps to Identifying Your Defining Moment
Our short video will teach you how to identify this event in your life and three critical steps to choosing your powerful defining moment you do not want to miss.
In our work with hundreds of yoga teachers worldwide we can say that this is the most essential step in creating a thriving yoga business. Until we connect with our “why,” we are bound to blend in trying to be something we are not.
