According to the 2016 Yoga in America Study conducted by Yoga Journal and Yoga Alliance, more than 36 million people currently practice yoga in the U.S., and 80 million more people want to give it a try this year.
Last year, the United Nations gave the yoga community a wonderful opportunity to reach new students by proclaiming June 21st as “The International Day of Yoga”, an annual day of celebration. If you haven’t already, it’s time to start making plans for this year’s celebration!
Many studios and community organizations have already begun planning events and activities like yoga in the park, free community classes, and much more.
To honor of the International Day of Yoga and to help spread the word about these events, Yoga Alliance is awarding ten $1,000 grants to help yoga enthusiasts share yoga with others in their communities. To enter you must simply complete an online application form between now and April 1 that outlines your plans to foster community involvement through yoga or educate more people about yoga’s benefits. Learn more on the Yoga Alliance website.
Be creative, have fun and join millions around the world celebrating yoga! Get your application in today!
