ARISE Music Festival is an annual gathering for yogis and activists to come together for music, yoga, and a chance to connect to nature and each other. The venue is a 350-acre organic farm and retreat center, 65 miles north of Denver in Loveland, Colorado. Sunrise Ranch has hosted the leave-no-trace music festival for the past five years, and this year will feature one of their strongest lineups of musicians and yoga teachers to date.
From bands like Atmosphere, Tipper, Ani DiFranco, and Rising Appalachia—you’ll find yourself dancing late into the night. Plus, you can catch yoga classes during the day with world-class teachers like YJ Master Class instructor Shiva Rea.
Rea will be teaching two powerful classes to liberate you and open your heart chakra. “Most people have sensations of their ‘inner sun’—the heat sensation that is connected to the electromagnetic field generated by our heart organ,” says Rea about her “Embodying the Sun of Your Energetic Heart” class. “This one-hour practice will integrate mantra, mudra, vinyasa into a movement meditation for all.”
Other local favorites at the festival will feature Gina Caputo, Steph Schwartz, Rob Loud, and Tyrone Beverly. “I have respect for all the teachers in the festival and always enjoy seeing how other teachers like R.R. Shakti, Gina Caputo, Sofia Diaz, and Nataraja Kellio transmit the roots of yoga for all,” Rea says.
One more thing we love about ARISE is their commitment to “global-cooling” initiatives. The festival plants a tree for every ticket sold and even hosts an organic farmer’s market in the campground so attendees can enjoy fresh, local produce throughout the event.
