Have you ever tasted a fresh peach in season? Sweet and delicious. Out of season, a peach is less vibrant because the time is ripe for different fruits. A hot chocolate in hot months may not sit well, but on a snowy day, it’s one of life’s delights. Cycles are evident in almost everything – our rotating Earth, our individual lives, and our relationships. Each season offers something uniquely wonderful. The important thing is to see what’s “in season” and enjoy it.

In this 1-hour open practice, Yoga Journal teacher and author, Rina Deshpande, Ed.M., MS.T., ERYT-500 will guide you into the summer season on our equinox, June 21st at 11am EST. You’ll acknowledge environmental seasonal shifts while also transforming individual thinking of “goodbyes” into “welcomes” through yoga asana, pranayama, and meditation. Every season is ripe for something. Yoga allows us to gracefully release what was so we can relish what actively blooms.

Rina Deshpande is a 17-year educator in NYC and across the globe. Growing up with Yoga, she studied its benefits at Harvard GSE and continues to teach classes, lead research curriculum design, and host cultural awareness trainings for various organizations and studios. She contributes to Self Magazine, the Huffington Post, Talkspace, Headspace, and currently writes and illustrates the “Ancient Wisdom, Modern Practice” column with Yoga Journal. Rina also offers an online course on the Culture and Practice of the Yama.
