This one-house ELXR power vinyasa flow class will help you navigate the flexibility and strength needed for hand-standing. The fundamental flow will focus on hamstring flexibility, shoulder flexibility, shoulder strength, and core strength.
Expect arm balances to help teach body awareness involved in strength poses like handstands, backbends, and binds to create space within the upper back and shoulder girdle, and plenty of chances to test your courage by mixing inversion training into the flow.

Nicole Calhoun, PhD, ERYT200 is the creative mind behind ĒLXR yoga. A former division I collegiate athlete, she first fell in love with the physical intensity of ashtanga and power yoga, but ultimately with the emotional transformation the practices brought about in her life. A big part of ĒLXR yoga is introducing physical challenges that allow you to unlock your true capacity for growth and spiritually prime your journey to samadhi or “bliss.” One pose Nicole loves to challenge her students with is handstand. She believes it presents the perfect opportunity for physical and emotional growth, as well as for the development of self-love and courage.
