If you’re feeling increasingly stressed lately, you’re far from alone. Many of us are feeling burnt out, exhausted—and just completely drained. In times of tension, you may find yourself moving away from power sequences and hot yoga classes, and that’s perfectly OK. If you’re craving a restorative practice to rediscover your center, we’ve got you covered.
We scoured YouTube to find a handful of restorative yoga sessions that will allow you to reconnect with yourself and lift your spirits. Consider this your opportunity to slow down and take a few (or many) deep breaths—you deserve it.
5 restorative yoga YouTube videos for inner calm
A 10-minute restorative class for when you’re feeling overwhelmed
In this 10-minute sequence from Yoga with Bird, you’ll move through a series of postures designed to help you achieve ultimate relaxation. Watch as tension and stress melts away from your physical body (and your mind) over the course of this 10-minute class. With poses like Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward-Facing Dog Pose) and Balasana (Child’s Pose), you’ll be able to give your body a nice stretch to release all that strain you’re holding onto.
A restorative flow to soothing sounds
Sometimes, you just need a slow flow set to relaxing music. If you’re looking to tune out from the chaos of the outside world and tap into yourself, this 35-minute practice from Arianna Elizabeth is for you. Set to calming music, you’ll practice postures and pranayama that will recalibrate your entire body. At the end of this practice, you’ll feel rested and ready to reengage with the world.
A flow to wind down before bed
It’s not always easy to get into a restful state before bed. This practice from Yoginimelbourne uses a bolster and restorative postures to help you completely surrender to sleep. You’ll linger in these poses for a little longer than a typical vinyasa flow (around one minute to two minutes), allowing you—and your physical body—to feel completely at ease.
A 5-minute restorative flow
Only have a few minutes to spare? You can still squeeze in a restorative practice. In this flow with Black Yogi Nico Marie, you’ll slowly move through a few calming postures to open up your hips, clear your mind, and tune into your breath. You’ll be amazed at how rested—and calm—you can feel after just five minutes. (Go ahead, and bookmark it—we know you’ll come back to this practice again and again.)
A prop-free calming practice
No props? No problem. Through cleansing breaths and easeful postures, you’ll be able to calm down your restless mind—and tired body—in this prop-free restorative flow. Guided by Jessica Richburg, this practice will allow you to let go of whatever is on your mind, so you can feel free to move through the rest of your day unburdened.
