When it comes to music, students of Kundalini instructor Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa never know what to expect. “Sometimes I teach an entire class with no music. Sometimes I play the same song the entire time,” says the Los Angeles-based teacher. “I never know what each class is going to bring.” Gurmukh draws from a large catalogue of music inspired by Kundalini Yoga mantras and poems written by Kundalini master Yogi Bhajan. But she’s also been known to play a variety of genres—even an occasional pop song—as long as they’re positive and inspiring.
