A study conducted at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) in Bangalore, India, suggests certain forms of yoga, along with regular treatment, can help reduce seizures in patients suffering from refractory epilepsy (those who continue to experience seizures despite trying a variety of treatment options). The yoga group practiced Surya Namaskar, Ardhakati Chakrasana, Bhujangasana, Salabhasana and Savasana followed by pranayama for 20 minutes, six days a week. The study was published in Epilepsy and Behaviour (Vol 12, No 2). Please write in if yoga has helped reduce your seizures.
