Yoga Warrior is an annual competition inviting yogis from around the world to compete for a 2-page ad feature in Yoga Journal and a $10,000 cash prize. The winner experiences a professional athletic photoshoot and a personalized interview for the piece. The competition operates as a cause-marketing campaign that supports Veterans Yoga Project.

Does Yoga Journal run the Yoga Warrior Competition?

No. Yoga Warrior is a separate entity that has purchased space in Yoga Journal to feature the Competition winner. While we are aware of the promotion and excited to see the outcome, Yoga Journal is not involved in the operations of the Competition. How is the winner selected?

The winner of the Yoga Warrior Competition is determined through public voting.

Where does the money go?

Yoga Warrior, LLC donates 25 percent of the net proceeds generated from the competition to Veterans Yoga Project, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping veterans recovering from post-traumatic stress and other psychological difficulties through the practice of yoga.
