The owners and senior teachers at Kula Yoga (www.kulayoga.com) have established a nonprofit group of yoga studios to raise money and awareness for a variety of causes, including Casa de Milagros, an orphanage in the Sacred Valley of Peru. Called Community Soul, the coalition hopes to create lasting connections among yogis around the world. Its website, www.communitysoul.org, promotes fundraisers, cultivates donations and corporate support, links students who want to volunteer, and cross-promotes participating studios. In November, the organization will hold fundraisers all over the country. The money that each studio or teacher raises will be divided between the studio’s chosen cause (75 percent) and Casa de Milagros (25 percent). To learn more, call (212) 945-4460.
