Finding that perfect gift can be challenging. However, if you’re searching for a special something for the yoga lover in your life, we’ve got you covered. We reached out to our trusted contributors to ask which items they would gift their yoga friends.
The result? This round-up of 27 yoga-inspired gifts, from top-rated yoga mats and props to soothing self-care selections.

Ingrid Yang, MD says the question she gets asked most often by her students is how to find a yoga mat that doesn’t slip and slide on the floor during their practice. This durable, grippy mat is her answer. (She’s even gifted this mat to a few of her friends!)

For San Francisco-based yoga teacher Sarah Ezrin, this Manduka yoga mat is the perfect gift for any yoga lover. “It fits in virtually any bag and is extremely versatile,” Ezrin says. “Mine has traveled the world with me!”

For those who enjoy a sweaty practice (looking at you, hot yoga lovers), consider a cork mat. New York City-based yoga teacher Sarah Herrington recommends this one from 42 Birds that is sustainable, environmentally-friendly, lightweight, and grippy.

Contributor Sierra Vandervort recommends gifting a yoga rug from Oko Living. Made with organic cotton, these hand-dyed rugs give any yogi a stable foundation for their practice.

Brittany Bryden, an Ottawa-based yoga teacher, says she takes this mat with her when she’s traveling. It’s sticky and easy to fold up and tuck away, she says, making it the ideal gift for the yoga lover who’s always on the move.

Los Angeles-based yoga teacher Pranidhi Varshney recommends this mat as the preferred alternative to a microfiber towel. Layer it on top of a cushioned mat—or use it on its own.

“A mat brand that really stands out to me is Suga Mats,” says Jenny Clise, a San Francisco-based yoga teacher. “They use recycled wetsuits and repurpose them into quality mats.”

International yoga teacher Travis Eliot says this is his favorite all-purpose mat, making it the perfect gift for someone who’s going from Restorative yoga to Yin yoga to power yoga.

Have a yogi whose hands are always full? Help them go hands-free with this pack. “This fanny pack is always packed for yoga, so I just grab it as I’m running out the door to class,” Yang says. “Each one is an original, one-of-a-kind, and made from 100% repurposed materials.”

“This comes to every class with me, whether it’s hot or Restorative,” Yang says. For the friend who complains about their sweat getting in the way of their practice, this towel can be their new perfect companion.

Yang recommends this backpack for anyone who identifies as a “commuter yogi.” When she rides her bike to class, she says this backpack fits her water bottle, mat, change of clothes, snacks, and even her laptop.

Los Angeles-based yoga teacher Andrew McGonigle says he loves this brand’s printed bolsters. Made with organic buckwheat hull, this bolster shapes to your body, fusing functionality with aesthetic appeal.

Shopping for someone who wants to deepen their meditation practice? Consider gifting them a product from Avocado’s meditation collection. Yang says these pillows are the best she’s used, providing the right amount of support and cushion.

Gift your yoga lover something that will become part of their regular routine. Varshney says she uses this hydrating oil blend on her hands every night before bed. “It’s 30 seconds of spa time for a tired mom,” she says.

Know a yogi who’s in need of some shut-eye or a little relaxation? You may want to consider gifting them this sleep mask. McGonigle says he loves to use this mask during Restorative yoga.

Bring sustainability into the shower for the eco-conscious yoga lover in your life. Herrington recommends these shampoo and conditioner bars, which come in plastic-free packaging.

Bring some soothing sensations to someone’s life. “It is my ritual to get up in the morning and light this candle before I journal,” Bryden says. “The packaging is beautiful and it smells amazing.”

“As someone who is incredibly vata, [my skin] tends to run quite dry,” Ezrin says. “This oil is also really helpful during the winter season when all of us need as much moisture as possible.”

Yang says these pants are her go-to pair for any active flow. “They just fit right, don’t roll down like many other pants do on me, and are the right length.” she says. (They’re also one of our editor’s favorites!)

Eliot recommends gifting these shorts to the active yogi in your life. “Whether I’m practicing yoga, or going on a trail run, these are my favorites,” he says.

This is the only sports bra Yang uses for yoga sculpt classes. “It provides the coverage and support I need, dries quickly, wears perfectly with no edges that cut into my skin, and is also from Patagonia, which we all love because of its commitment to the environment,” she says.

“As the weather gets colder, I always start my classes off in long sleeves and this lightweight hoodie moves with my body like a soft second skin,” Yang says. “And it is, of course, perfect for Savasana (love the hood to cover my eyes!) and Restorative yoga.”

London-based yoga teacher Adam Husler says this device travels with him around the world. In addition to helping him create social media content, it also holds his phone while he streams live classes.

Need a present for the yoga lover who is a parent (or soon-to-be)? Consider gifting them a subscription, Ezrin, author of The Yoga of Parenting, recommends. “This app has a wide variety of meditations and mindfulness exercises,” she says.

Who doesn’t want to awaken their inner goddess? “Beautifully written, fun, and accessible, this book offers readers a tangible path to understanding the most subtle body,” Ezrin says.

Help a yoga lover tap into their soul. This intuitive card deck explores the ‘links between color and emotion,’” Herrington says. “I love pulling a card as another way to check in with my inner self.”

We’re all in need of a bit of inspiration—and hope. Bryden recommends this book for someone in need of both. “This is a book that found me when I needed it the most,” she says. “It is a quick read and full of wisdom.”
